Star Trek Themed Coins Now Legal Tender In Canada
Canada once more goes out of its way to one-up the rest of the world by introducing Star Trek themed coins that are legal currency!
Now while these coins can be used to buy Tim Hortons and hockey sticks, or whatever it is Canadian people spend their money on, the real value in these coins is in the collector value.
Some of the coins, including the $10 coloured coins featuring Kirk, Spock, Uhura and Scotty and the $20 coins featuring the Enterprise, are all being sold at face value. And things get a bit more expensive from there. The coloured $20 enterprise coin costs over $100, but that pales in comparison to the crowning glory of the set.
What I’m referring to is a solid gold coin in the shape of the badges worn by all Starfleet crew with a face value of $200! This little bad boy will put you back $1300! Or should I say it would if all of the gold coin pre-orders weren’t sold out already.
