According to variety, FX has renewed Archer for three more seasons. Unfortunately for fans they’ll only contain 8 episodes. Each season thus far of Adam Reed‘s animated comedy has contained 13 episodes, except for seasons one and seven which featured 10.
The spy-show turned Miami Vice-show turned spy-show again turned detective-show has been running since 2009 and with this extension it should keep us entertained for several years yet. Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX said of the show that “The move to Los Angeles this past season as private detectives was just the latest twist in Archer’s legendary exploits and the next three seasons will to be just as amazing and unpredictable.”
With season 7 leaving us on a huge cliffhanger and with so many directions the show can take, nobody can be sure how the next three seasons will play out. But if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that:
