Allison Road, the first person horror game inspired by P.T. and Silent Hill and developed by Lilith Ltd has been cancelled. Lilith Ltd announced the cancellation through their Twitter page on Sunday, June 5. A statement released on Facebook followed although gave no reason for the cancellation.

“After a long consideration between Team17 and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label. Sometimes things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity.”

But why?!

Giving a similar response while speaking to vg247, Team17 said, “We have reached a mutual agreement (with Lilith Ltd) to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s label.” Thus, shedding very little light on the situation. It is possible we may never be given the reason for the game’s cancellation.

The game was originally announced after Konami cancelled P.T. It used Steam Greenlight in 2015 to really get development going. Funding for Allison Road started on kickstarter. After struggling to reach their original goal of $250 000, Lilith announced their partnership with Team17 for a traditional publishing deal.

Lilith Ltd planned to release Allison Road for PC in 2016, with releases on other platforms to come later.
