Irish Pubcast and Forbidden Planet to Host Free X-Men Panel
Nerds of Dublin unite! Forbidden Planet, that holy place for some of us to pick up comics and merchandise, is sponsoring a free event for all of you X-Men fans.
The panel, entitled The X-Panel of Future Pasts and hosted by Irish Pubcast and Story Breakers, will involve an discussion about Marvel’s X-Men. Topics on offer include the history of the comics, the films and will likely pose the question of all questions: how do the films compare to the primary material? This is a highly divided conversation as can even be seen from The Arcade’s group of writers, some love the movies (even some like the highly criticised X-Men 3: The Last Stand) some don’t.
Crowd participation is encouraged so it’s set to be an interesting night. The X-men comics have spawned many decades since it’s creation in September 1963, and has numerous different series including The X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Ultimate X-Men and New X-Men. There’s also a spew of graphic novels, solo outing runs of comics for some of the characters, and alternate timelines to play with, so there will be no shortage of discussion.
If the possibility of meeting with your peers in the lively surroundings of the Grand Social for a night of (hopefully) well-mannered discussion wasn’t enough to grab your attention, there will also be prizes on the night and maybe even some fun Cosplay!
