Variety have recently confirmed that Mad Max: Fury Road star, Charlize Theron, will be joining the cast of Fast 8.
It has been rumoured that she will be taking the role of the villain in the movie, although this is unconfirmed as of yet. She may join up with or fight against Jason Statham‘s Deckard Shaw, but that’s all speculation for the time being. It’s believed they’ve been chasing after Theron for quite a while now, having approached her when the sequel was in early development. The actor wanted to wait until a finished draft of the script was available before committing, so her hiring indicates the movie has come together in a big way.
The next instalment of Fast and Furious franchise, Fast 8 follows the enormously successful Furious 7, which made over a billion dollars in the box office last year. Many of the cast of the series, including Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, are expected to return for Fast 8.
