It seems like all theme parks are doing lately is trying to one-up each other with the next best attraction… not that we’re complaining! This is actually pretty wonderful news for annual pass holders and first time park goers alike.
Universal Studios Hollywood will boast a new The Walking Dead themed attraction later this year. Set to open this summer, the haunted house-style attraction will include elements from both the television series and the comics that preceded the show.
The attraction was announced on the latest episode of The Talking Dead. Host Chris Hardwick described the attraction as the “most intense, realistic Walking Dead experience ever”. But perhaps the best part of all of this is that Greg Nicotero, the makeup effects mastermind behind the show, is involved in developing the attraction, which will feature a combination of animatronic zombies and live performers.
Unlike the eventual zombie themed events hosted at the Universal Studios, this attraction will be a permanent, year-round addition to the park.
