Black Canary is a current DC comic about the hero Black Canary and her misadventures in the band of the same name. To celebrate the release of the book’s first TPB, in stores now, DC Entertainment have released an EP from the fictional band called EP 1.

The three track release is recorded, mixed and produced by Joseph Donovan, with Michelle Bensimon and the comic’s writer Brendan Fletcher co-writing two of the three tracks. The third song, ‘The Man With The X-Ray Eyes’ is a cover from the band Bauhaus.

As no new music is complete without an accompanying tour, Black Canary have announced a full set of tour dates too. Don’t get too excited, though – you’ll need to become a resident in one of DC’s major fictional cities to attend. Still, it’s a nice touch of authenticity to the punk hero’s first real life set of songs!

Black Canary Vol. 1 – Kicking and Screaming is out now in physical and digital.
