Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s day or not, today’s Track of the day is a song that’s sure to get you tapping your feet, and wiggling your hips. Today, we bring you ‘The Sound’ by The 1975.

A UK alternative rock band, formed in Manchester, The 1975 consist of 4 band members; lead vocalist and guitarist Matthew Healy, guitarist Adam Hann, Bassist Ross McDonald and George Daniel as drummer. Their latest song ‘The Sound’ debuted on BBC 1 Radio recently, and is the third track on their upcoming album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it which is set to be released February 26.

‘The Sound’ channels a disco-esque feel, incorporating a rhythmic beat that is sure to make you want to dance. Even more impressive, this version is completely live. Lyrically however, the song’s theme delves into breakup territory. Knowing someone so well that  “I know when you’re around cause I know the sound, I know the sound of your heart”. Yet the verses reveal a darker truth, that there may be a romantic drought in the heart he hears beating, where Healy sings “I don’t regret it but I’m glad that we’re through. So don’t you tell me that you ‘just don’t get it’, cause I know you do.”

Regardless of it’s theme, this song is ridiculously catchy. Let us know what you think below in the comments!
