Ryan Reynolds Thanks Deadpool Fans

Ryan Reynolds, the lead for Deadpool, has taken to his Facebook account to reach out to fans and thank them for their support.

The actor who has fervently pushed for a movie that would stay to true to the character and comics posted that “the #‎Deadpool fans who took us from leaked test footage all the way to the main event. It’s because of you, we got to make the real Deadpool. The right way.

It’s not hard to see why the Reynolds is grateful, not only has the film met with positive reviews from critics (check out review here!) and fans but it smashed some world records on it’s opening weekend.

The movie is reported to have taken in $260 million worldwide making around $125 million internationally and a further $135 million in the US. These box office sales make it one of the highest taking R-rated movies in history, surpassing The Matrix Reloaded. Not only that but Deadpool now claims top spot for the 20th Century Fox’s biggest opening, pushing Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith out of the way.

That ain’t pavement he’s walking on. It’s sunshine. Thank you to the #Deadpool fans who took us from leaked test footage…
