Best part of the photo? Tiny little Groot standing on Drax’s shoulder! Adorable!
On top of the image Gunn also confirmed that Kurt Russell has officially joined the cast alongside other newcomers Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan. Speaking to his followers on his page, the director revealed Klementieff would be playing Mantis, a new Guardian.
The new cast members will work alongside returning Guardians, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. Meanwhile, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Glenn Close are all also expected to appear in some capacity.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently filming for a May 5, 2017 release.
