Madoka fans everywhere have already rejoiced at the thought of the prospect of any further Madoka Magica content but now the dream is coming true. Recently we reported on the unveiling of the concept movie which is a new story related to the original Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime for the “~Commemorating 40 Years of SHAFT~ Madogatori” event (held in November).
The January 2016 issue of Kadokawa’s Newtype magazine will publish an interview with SHAFT representative director and president Mitsutoshi Kubota, who is also credited as a producer for the project. He confirmed that the concept movie is not the end of Puella Magi Madoka Magica but a launch for a brand new project.
He went on to comment that the concept film will act as a movie based image board. It will be the core of the new project and act as the trailer for it. We will see the original characters from the series return in the concept movie singling out Mami in particular and stated the new project would strengthen her characters as a “god of battle”.
