Ridey Scott‘s new Alien prequel, Alien: Covenant now has its lead actress. Katherine Waterston has been cast for the lead role for the film, beating out heavily rumored favorite Rebecca Ferguson.
Waterston‘s previous credits include Inherent Vice and Jobs, the Steve Jobs biopic, so she has the credentials and a sci-fi horror will be a new genre for her. She will be in good company though as she’s worked with Michael Fassbender before, who is confirmed to return to the Prometheus sequel along with Noomi Rapace.
Alien: Covenant is scheduled for release in October, 2017 with filming to begin sometime next year.
