It’s almost one month after release and Fallout 4 gets its first official patch, although technically it’s been on PC since week two but we digress.

Patch 1.02 dropped on PC on Monday, it’ll be released to PlayStation players on Tuesday and I predict that Xbox One users should have it by the end of the week.

With all that out of the way, let’s dive straight into this first official patch for Fallout 4.

Support has been added for remapping number pad keys.

There have been general memory and stability improvements and, after playing around with the game in full screen mode, we can tell you that there has definitely been an improvement.

After that, it gets a little bit more specific with fixing re-quipping weapons in the quest ‘Reunions’ to the quest ‘When Freedom Calls’ not being able to be completed at all. While I could go on about how these are main story quests with bugs again, they’re a really weird fix in the notes. When the player jumps into water and reloads a save, the game crash fixed.

All in all the patch added some really needed changes and a few we could have lived without. While most of these fixes appear in the PS4 patch, the most notable thing is the sweet, sweet boost to performance that admittedly is not as smooth as 30 FPS but is an improvement over what it was. This makes this 520mb patch worth every MB on PS4 and around 270mb for the PC.
