Although EA had announced the launch window for Battlefield 5, a developer at DICE has now confirmed it to be in development. Development director Dan Vanderlind stated that, while part of the team at DICE is still working on Battlefront, he is moving on to working on the next Battlefield.
Now that we've shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving on to another project, the next Battlefield..

It’s been two years since Battlefield 4 released and recently has seen its newest Legacy Operations DLC featuring maps from previous entries in the franchise. It’ll be interesting to see where DICE takes the series. Battlefield 4 didn’t exactly leave a good taste in people’s mouths at launch when it was full of bugs and server problems, so maybe they’ve learned their lesson on that one.
