Sword Art Online Movie Confirmed With A Series Spanning Teaser
Dengeki have released a teaser trailer to their Youtube channel for a Sword Art Online movie, which was revealed at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival last weekend.
The trailer recaps the progression of the Sword Art Online (SAO) series from season 1 in 2012, when Kirito logs into the VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) Sword Art Online, where he discovers he is unable to log out. The series then progressed to another virtual reality game: Alfheim Online (ALO), which was more of a fantasy game where Kirito tried to save his companion Asuna. Transitioning onto another game then, Kirito jumps into Gun Gale Online (GGO) a shooting game, to investigate a series of murders.
The new movie however is said to tell an all new story written by series creator Reki Kawahara, with Tomohiko Ito taking the director’s chair.
