A few weeks ago, we brought you news that the Pink Ranger had been cast in the upcoming Power Rangers movie. Today, we’ve got ourselves a new Red Ranger.

The new Red Power Ranger will be played by Dacre Montgomery, a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts who has also appeared in the TV movie Family Tree Pilot Trailer. Montgomery will take the torch from Austin St John who was the Mighty Morphin’ Red Power Ranger when the series first aired in 1993.
The Power Rangers movie will begin filming next year with an intended 2017 release.
