Although Game of Thrones has already piqued interest by casting seasoned actors Ian McShane (Deadwood, Kung Fu Panda) in an unknown role and Max Von Sydow (Flash Gordon) as the Three-Eyed Raven for season 6, it seems they were saving the best for last.
According to Variety, Richard E. Grant, known for his work in Doctor Who and Withnail and I has been cast in the latest season. Grant’s role has not been disclosed but there’s plenty of characters which haven’t been adapted from A Song of Ice and Fire, despite the series now heading past the books. Grant may be a good Victarion Greyjoy or perhaps a Maester from the yet-unseen citadel. It’s wide open!
