Battery drain
Battery life on smart phones is the bane of everyone’s life and no matter how many times you kill tasks on your phone throughout the day, the battery still decides to give up. It gets even worse when you leave your phone on sleep mode and an hour later it’s dead!

Thanks to researchers at Purdue University, battery drain might not be as big a problem anymore as they have developed a tool that has come out of a study of Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 phones.

Hush, available as an experimental software through GitHub for Android phones, works by killing apps that run in the background while the phone is asleep.

This is a fantastic idea as it priorities the apps you use a lot and stops the ones that you don’t tend to use. They are still hoping to work more on this so that ultimately the battery drain is halved, so stay tuned for more updates.

Currently it is only available to developers but both Apple and Google are implementing low power modes in their most up to date systems.
