Super-Meat-Boy-Forever

With Edmund McMillen’s latest project, Fingered, being released this week, recent news has been dropped that Team Meat will now be putting all their efforts on Super Meat Boy Forever. Team Meat put their other project, Mewgenics, on hold last year when they announced the Meat Boy themed endless runner, but now it would see that after Edmund McMillen’s recent side project is done, the team is fully back on board to work on Super Meat Boy Forever.

Edmund McMillen spoke out on the matter in an interview with Destructoid, stating “Super Meat Boy Forever is back in development again and is my primary project at this point now that Afterbirth is basically complete on my end and Fingered is [almost] out. Mew is on hold till after Forever is out, the only target release is, ‘When it’s done.'”

Edmund McMillen has been working on Fingered as his own personal project for some time now, alongside Afterbirth, the latest DLC for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. With Fingered out and Afterbirth to be released in the next few months, Team Meat has plenty of time now to work heavily on Super Meat Boy Forever. Its clear that Edmund McMillen enjoys working on multiple projects at the same time, and for the most part he proves he can do it. While its a shame that we won’t see Mewgenics for a while, at least Team Meat is back into developing games again.
