Leonardo DiCaprio will be taking direction from Martin Scorsese once again as the two are confirmed to be working together to make The Devil In The White City. Based on the book The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic And Madness At The Fair That Changed America, the film will tell the story of America’s first serial killer, Doctor H. H. Holmes, with DiCaprio in the leading role and Scorsese in the director’s chair.

Holmes is an infamous character in American history due to the manner in which he committed his killings. Admitting to 27 murders but with a body count closer to 200, Holmes built a hotel, called ‘The World’s Fair Hotel’, which included a gas chamber and a dissection table amongst other horrors in which he would lure hapless victims to their demise.

This will mark the second time that DiCaprio and Scorsese have worked together to give an unlikable character to screen, with The Wolf Of Wall Street telling the story of notorious crook Jordan Belfort. However, giving the gratuitous nature of this role, this will be new territory for DiCaprio, and likely something a little different for Scorsese too. That said, Leo has had this role in his sights for quite some time, so this should be very interesting.
