Who knew fan outcry could actually garner results? Capcom developers sought out fans to see if there was any demand for a remake of Resident Evil 2 and it looks like the answer they got was enough to get the ball rolling as higher ups have signed off on the project.
Yoshiaki Hirabyashi will direct the game, having helmed the remake of the first Resident Evil. Hirabyashi has a long history with the series, dating back to his time as programmer on the very first game. For now, all we have is this video and confirmation that a remake, of some description, is in the pipeline.
