Lego And Arduino Board Used To Control Robot

Meet Danny Benedettelli and his latest creation involving a humanoid robot and a wearable exoskeleton that allows him to control the bot from far away. Pretty cool, right?

Behind this project is an Arduino board that reads Benedettelli‘s actions from the exoskeleton and translates them into commands that the bot can understand. It then sends the commands through bluetooth. In essence, if he moves his left arm, the bot moves his left arm.

The robot that was used in this video was from an earlier project that Benedetteli created back in 2011 which uses Lego Mindstorms.

Benedetteli has said that this is still in the prototype phase, which means that it’s early days but there could be more updates in the future. At the moment, the function is kept in the upper half with the hope that the robot will be mobile and have the ability to open and close its hands.
