Concept art for a Jurassic Park television series that never made it to air has been revealed by illustrator William Stout.
Polygon reports that during “the ’90s, the heyday of the animated continuation of a major action blockbuster, Stout worked on designing an animated series based on the recently released Jurassic Park.” via his blog.
Stout has his own theories as to the slow uptake of the series on the small screen, but whatever the reason for the show not making it to air the illustrations can only fill you with a regret for what might have been. An optimist may be filled with hope for what is to come if public interest is sufficient. However, with Stout is selling these pieces, such hope may be misplaced. Then agaging, Jurassic World‘s success seems near unending, so perhaps something may come of the idea after all!
What do you make of Stout‘s work? Would you like to see someone adapt the franchise to the small screen? Would/will you buy his work if you can/could raise the capital? Let us know in the comments!
