Vampire Hunter D Returns With New Series
We can nearly hear the hollers of ecstasy from anime fans everywhere about this news. Unified Pictures, a California based production studio, revealed to Anime News Network that they would be unveiling a new CG-animated series.
Co-produced with Japanese studio Digital Frontier and based on the Vampire Hunter D novels by Hideyuki Kikuchi, the news was revealed at their panel at Anime Expo on July 2.
For those unfamiliar with the Vampire Hunter D series, it is based around its central character, D, who is a half-human, half-vampire who in turn hunts down other vampires. Thankfully the creator himself, Hideyuki Kikuchi, will be involved along with the director of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Yoshiaki Kawajiri.
Vampire Hunter D has long been a staple in any anime fan’s collection, but now a whole new generation will be able to enjoy a new look and feel to this classic anime creation.
