We’re big fans of Ant-Man here at The Arcade, so we were surprised to hear that Pixels came in at $9.2 million for its Friday night opening screening, which beat both Ant-Man and Minions.
Directed by Chris Columbus and starring Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage and Josh Gadd, the film is about characters from Atari era video games becoming ‘real’ and invading Earth. Among these characters is Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, as well as other classical childhood staples who proceed to tear the world apart while a group of Arcade-lovers try to stop them.
Pixels is out in cinemas now.
