The absolutely stomping weekly Batman book, Batman Eternal, is getting an even bigger sequel series as Batman And Robin Eternal has been announced at SDCC.
Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV are once again the main scribes of the book, but will be complimented by a host of writers including Tom King, Tim Seeley, Jackson Lanzing and Ed Brisson among others. The main artist will once again be Tony Daniel.
Speaking on the series, Snyder called Batman And Robin Eternal “larger than the first one: globe-spanning, bigger secrets,” adding that it makes “something fresh” out of Robin’s legacy.
The 26-issue weekly run coincides with the 75th anniversary of Batman’s sidekick, and will see the long-awaited return of one of the most historical iterations of the Boy Wonder – former Batgirl Cassandra Cain.
“This series is going to reintroduce Cassandra Cain to the DC Universe,” James Tynion IV told reporters this morning. “We can’t talk too much about that just yet but this is a character that for me at least I have loved for my entire comic-reading life. The fact that we have the opportunity to bring her back in a very, very central role — she is on of the three leads of this story, her, Dick and Harper Rowe — I’m really pumped.”
Batman And Robin Eternal begins in October.
