Ahead of Agent Carter‘s return to television next year, executive producer Michelle Fazekas has confirmed that several well-known villains from the Marvel Comics universe will be appearing. Rather than running with the Winter Soldier storyline teased at during season one’s finale, they will instead be pulling from the universe set up in the comics, meaning readers will be able to instantly recognize some familiar faces.
“People who are fans of the Marvel comic book universe will recognize our villain and there’s more than one villain,” Fazekas said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “We’re certainly taking inspiration from the comic book universe, so anybody who knows that will be rewarded.”
While Marvel haven’t announced a date for the season two premiere, they have confirmed it will debut during Agents of S.H.I.EL.D‘s mid-season break.
