X-Men Spinoff Confirmed From Fox Called 'The New Mutants'
It’s been confirmed that Fox have closed a deal with The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone to direct and co-write an X-Men spinoff movie that will be based on The New Mutants series.
This spinoff will be a standalone movie but will be a part of the current X-Men universe, expanding the roster of mutants and characters.
The team of mutants first appeared in 1982 and ran until 1991. It was then picked up again for a second series in 2003 and a third in 2009. The original lineup included Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Mirage, Cannonball and Karma, but the team has seen many iterations over the years – all trained by Professor X, Magneto and Cable.
There’s been no word on when we can expect the film, but it’s nice to see Fox continuing the X-Men expansion.
