I’m a weird one when it comes to music. Asking me what type of music I like would be the equivalent of asking me to eat the same meal every day for the rest of my life. I like my variety. Taylor Swift could very easily find herself smushed between Trivium and Celine Dion on any given playlist at any given time. This week I’m of a particular mood. While today is a bank holiday, tomorrow I start a very long week. Like hanging from the precipice over some very deep chasm I’m waiting to start my decent into darkness, culminating on my 28th birthday, which I will in fact be working. So while the sun might shine today, torment begins tomorrow. Harry-Noooo
As such the selections for this Music Monday are going to represent that.
For all the people out there that perhaps are working today or who aren’t looking forward to the backlogs tomorrow; where there will be three days work to do in the space of a few hours. Like many people, simply because they aren’t in work doesn’t mean that a silent pile isn’t presently growing somewhere, waiting to find it’s way to you on your return. This is for you.

Erika Janunger: Weightless

I’ve gone to my happy place. Tomorrow isn’t real. Listen to something pretty.

Breaking Benjamin: Dance With the Devil

Yep, I’m going to die.

Rock Plaza Central: Anthem For The Already Defeated

Discovered in the brilliant low budget zombie movie The Battery. This song is the first stage actual dread for the week. Resigned to the idea that escape is unavoidable but determined to survive it.

Tool: Schism

You’ll break, but the pieces will still somehow function and you will autopilot  your way through it.

Disturbed: Indestructible

When this week is over you will look back and realize that you rock.
