George A. Romero’s Empire Of The Dead Coming To TV
The Cannes Film Festival is currently in full swing and, though we aren’t there, Variety have caught some very intriguing news. Demarest, the folks who handled Kevin Smith‘s Tusk, are producing a TV series based on Empire of the Dead, the comic written by one George A. Romero.
The series is based on his world of the dead that he’s been working on for decades and focuses on a tribal war between zombies and vampires in New York City. Romero himself will be writing the show with longtime partner Peter Gremwald, while the show will be a co-production between Romero and Demarest.
There’s no word as yet as to who is cast, but what would you like to see out of the TV series? More like The Walking Dead, or something a little different? Let us know in the comments!
