Despite shooting on the movie beginning quite soon, intimate details about the hotly anticipated release have remained firmly under wraps. However, that doesn’t stop the internet. It’s rumored the title for the next film is set to be Star Trek Beyond, according to TrekMovie.com.
They claim the name has been registered with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Whether that’s proof enough is up to you, but there could be some truth in it. Co-writer Simon Pegg, who also stars as fan-favorite Scotty, spoke to Spinoff Online about how he wishes to take the series “where no man has gone before – where no one has gone before”. Could this hint at the accuracy of ‘Beyond’ being included in the title?
Paramount hasn’t revealed the movie’s name officially, but it’ll likely be revealed quite soon given its 2016 release date. Plus, if all else fails, they can surprise everyone and call it Star Trek 3.
