In case you missed the drop, Total War: Warhammer has officially been revealed by Sega and Creative Assembly. The cinematic-style trailer for the game will knock your socks off, so remove those now.
As the video itself claims: ‘The rules have changed’. For the first time, the setting of the game is fantasy-inspired, so get ready for plenty of magic storms and flying monsters which will be common staples of the world according to IGN.com.
Not everything is changing quite so drastically, however, as gameplay will follow the existing system for Total War games, with a turn-based campaign where you build up your empire and order your troops around.
We here at The Arcade are incredibly excited but we kind of wish they’d just called it Total Warhammer as Total War: Warhammer tickles the tongue a little. Try saying it five times fast.
Sega has also revealed four of the factions: the Greenskins, the Dwarves, the Empire and the Vampire Counts. It all sounds intriguing and we’re starving for more details, but the trailer and its fantastic CGI is enough to keep us satisfied for now.
