Herb Trimpe, Original Wolverine Artist Passes Away
Award-winng artist, Herb Trimpe credited as the first artist to draw Marvel’s Wolverine has passed away on Monday night. His cousin, Glen Baisley posted the news on Facebook, alerting fans of the artist to his passing.
Herb is known for his work on titles such as The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and for co-creating Captain Britain and Psylocke.
He was the first artist to draw Wolverine, the character made his debut in the Hulk #180-181 which Trimpe was drawing at the time.
“He was a legend in the industry, the first artist to draw Wolverine for publication (THE INCREDIBLE HULK issue #181) and penciled some of the most iconic characters ever. He will be greatly missed.”
