Monday saw The Hollywood Reporters’s Heat Vision Blog report that Tron: Legacy and Oblivion director Joseph Kosinki is now in talks with Sony to direct the film adaptation of Sony’s racing game franchise Gran Turismo, the project that was originally revealed by Sony back in 2013.
It was also noted that Columbia Pictures co-president Michael De Luca, Sony Pictures vice president Matt Milam, Josh Bratman, DeVon Franklin, Elizabeth Cantillon and Dana Brunetti will produce the film while Alex Tse has been marked to write the script with Kosinski perhaps developing a new script for the film.
The film is based on the bestselling racing game franchise of the same name that was originally released back in 1997 on the original PlayStation console with the most recent being Gran Turismo 6 released in December 2013 for the PlayStation 3.
