Hot on the heels of the news that Hawkgirl has joined the as-yet-unnamed Arrow/The Flash spinoff, it’s now been revealed that Arthur Darvill, of Doctor Who fame, will also star in the show as long-term DC character Rip Hunter.
Hunter will simply go by The Traveler in the show, according to comingsoon.net, as the character is a time traveler who is described as a “Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.”
Rip Hunter debuted in DC comics in 1959, and has fought alongside Superman in his long history with the company. The spinoff series from The CW still has no name, but the cast is continuing to fill up to make it a very, very interesting prospect indeed.
