Style Saturday – Fantastic Facade
To celebrate all the sneak peeks we’re getting of the new Fantastic 4 movie, why not let yourself be inspired by some of the heroes’ super powers when putting your look together? Today I’ll share with you some of my all time favorite products that give a pretty super-human result.
REED RICHARDS A.K.A. MISTER FANTASTIC
To start off with the stretchiest of heroes, why not extend your lashes to infinity and beyond?
Maybelline is known for cheap and awesome mascaras that are must-haves in any kit. The “Colossal Mascara” is already a well known makeup staple that, according to Maybelline, provides 7x the volume in one coat. But now they’ve gone and improved it, making the “Pumped Up! Colossal Volume Express Mascara” that provides 16x the volume! The formula is great and non-clumpy and provides volume and length. Definitely one to check out.
SUSAN STORM A.K.A. THE INVISIBLE WOMAN
Cakey makeup is a “NO NO” in my book.
You want your skin looking fresh and like REAL SKIN, not like you just applied a layer of plaster all over and called it a day. So in honor of invisibility, here’s to my Holy Grail of foundations: the Make Up Forever HD Liquid Foundation. It has got insane good coverage (medium to heavy & buildable) and it looks like YOU HAVE NOTHING ON. I seriously cannot stress this enough. Stop what you’re doing and just go buy this foundation. Now.
But all kidding aside, it’s great for people with problematic skin like acne or rosacea, since it has great coverage (even more so when paired with a great concealer) and it won’t look caked on!
JOHNNY STORM A.K.A. THE HUMAN TORCH
Okay, this one doesn’t involve actual fire… but it does burn! “Burning makeup” you say?
Why, yes, yes I do. And it doesn’t involve getting liquid liner or mascara in your eye (we all know that’s a stinger). Why, it’s lip plumpers of course! Those little masochistic products that everyone is secretly dying to try out! But instead of going out and splurging on some chemical-heavy (and honestly sometimes scary) stuff, why not make a natural one at home? Just take some Vaseline and a few drops of cinnamon or peppermint oil and there you have it! Apply it before going out for a pretty pout.
BEN GRIM A.K.A. THE THING
Now, we don’t all exactly want rock hard skin, now do we? But one thing we’d all like is strong and healthy nails.
If you have difficulty growing out your nails, try applying some nail hardener frequently to stop them from chipping. And if you need that little bit of extra strength, apply it UNDER the tips of the nails, too! Works like a charm.
