Improved Controls:
With the addition of the C Stick and ZL/ZR buttons the new Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL will have a wider set of controls. The C Stick, a second analogue control on the right hand side of the systems gives players new control prospects, with spontaneous camera control with compatible games. The ZL/ZR buttons again located at the back on the handheld offer a new perspective on control options.
More Speed:
The new Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL have been given a major power boost with an enhanced processor that will give the system a quicker and smoother feel as it downloads and run HOME menu applications. Games like Xenoblade Chronicles that have been made especially for the system with be able to fully take advantage of this new processor power.
faceplatesCustomize as you like:
We have all heard the new 3DS XL will be only available in Metallic Blue or Metallic Black upon release but the new 3DS will be released in black and white but with a surprise. On the new Nintendo 3DS players will be able to customize their systems using cover plates on front and the back. These plates will come in variations of colours, textures and caricatures.

Comfy 3D:
The 3D was good on the older 3DS model but with the new console it is even better making the 3D viewing more comfortable for players with its face tracking capabilities. The console will track a player’s face to determine the viewing angle and adjust the screen to suit, giving the 3D features a new flare and fully immerse the players during gameplay.
Possibilities a 3DS never had before:amiibo
The biggest and newest aspect to the new systems is the fact they will have built in amiibo support. Opening up a new gaming experience for Nintendo players, using amiibos to open new contents and features with compatible titles such as Super Smash Bros and the upcoming Code Name S.T.E.A.M. Players need only tap the amiibo figure to the near-field communication area to enjoy all the features amiibo had to offer.
“We are extremely pleased to be launching New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL in Europe following their successful launch in Japan last October”, states Satoru Shibata, President, Nintendo of Europe. “We strongly believe that both systems are set to transform the experience players have on a portable handheld gaming system. Whether players opt for the light, compact and customisable New Nintendo 3DS or prefer the bigger screens of New Nintendo 3DS XL, both systems offer a whole host of new features that both current handheld users and those who are looking to purchase their first Nintendo handheld system are sure to enjoy”.
