I don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to selfie phenomenon but long before I was desperately trying to angle shots and running through filters to perfect perfection, I was spending hours in online games snapping pictures of my own characters with NPCs, epic battles and beautiful scenery. I had a real eye for capturing my own vanity!
Now World of Warcraft developers Blizzard are rolling out patch 6.1 and it will make the whole effort of snapping shots of your Draenai mage pulling duckface in front of the Lich King that much easier with the addition of the S.E.L.F.I.E. camera.
Players will be able to pick up their own ‘camera’ after completing the level 100 mission ‘Field Photography’ and for the truely avid snapper it can be upgraded to the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera Mk. II by completing a second mission. Just owning the camera allows players to flip the in game camera and turn it on themselves for emotive grins, pouty pusses and capture their inner narcissus, the upgrade allows those who own it to go one step further and apply filters!
PAtch 6.1 is currently being tested on the public test realms and seems to be a nice addition alongside integrated Twitter feeds which allow players to brag about completed missions and snagged loot!
