Nintendo fans worldwide have enjoyed the perks of being a member of Club Nintendo but with a new generation console comes a new era of membership programs. Club Nintendo started off as VIP 24:7 and Club Member till the two merged in December 2007 creating what we all have known as Club Nintendo.
Nintendo have stated on the official website that the feedback from Club Nintendo has been what has helped them shape their business. They also state that

“We’re working hard to create a new programme, which we plan to launch later this year.”

Nintendo have given fans a breakdown and timeline schedule for the short future of Club Nintendo:
April 1st 2015: Nintendo will no longer be including registration cards for products in the games packaging however games in stock before this date may still have cards included.
April 20th 2015: This date will see the termination of digital products downloaded from the Nintendo eShop. These products from the eShop will no longer appear in the “My Registered Games” & “Systems page” of Club Nintendo. Also – surveys from the downloaded software titles no not be available.
September 30th 2015: Club Nintendo will end on this date. Players will no longer be able to avail of any of the Club Nintendo features such as registering, log in, and earn starts or exchange said stars from the stars catalogue.
club_nintendoPlayers who have earned stars up to the September 30th date much avail and exchange them before this date so that the stars won’t be lost. Nintendo have urged players to use their stars before the September 30th cut off.
“There are plenty of unique and exclusive items already available in the Stars Catalogue, and we’ll keep adding more over the coming months, so there’s plenty to spend your Stars on before September 30th 2015.”
Lastly, considering the new Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL go live before the September cut off (released the 13th of February 2015) will not be register able for Club Nintendo. The hardware bundles however will still have registration cards included until the 1st of April 2015.
Club Nintendo has been such a success for the company that one can only imagine that the new membership program will be a far superior one.
“Please stay tuned for more information about the new membership programme, including its launch date”
