X-Men And Fantastic Four Team-Up Film A Possibility
So, that Sony hack is just reeling out these headlines that have, more than likely, only the littlest bit of salt to them. However, this one sounds more likely than most, given the current superhero climate. Fox are looking at putting together Fantastic Four and X-Men in the same way that Feige has put together the Avengers franchise.
The e-mails from Sony executive Michael DeLuca read, “[Simon] Kinberg told me fox is steering Xmen and Fantastic Four into an eventual team up film. Seems to me maybe, since the Spider-man universe itself is deep, you guys should look at sinister six, new spidey, female movie and venom as linked pieces leading to eventual mega movie ala Feige and Fox and not stand alone single films. It’s early in all these and you can still map out a blueprint for connective tissue.”
They also mention a possible Spider-Man cameo in Captain America: Civil War, but that rumor is still very much in the wind.
This is interesting, mostly because it finally gives some much-needed credibility to the Fantastic Four re-launch, which has floundered almost humiliatingly up until now. The synopsis and character interviews have shown a disregard for the roots Marvel’s first family was built on, but the news that it might eventually meet with the currently stronger than all X-Men films means that there’s something very positive to be excited about. Here’s hoping it proves correct!
