Another new DC show is surfacing, this time on Syfy.

A Superman prequel, written by David.S.Goyer, is in the development stage down at Syfy.

The pitch is as follows:

Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows the Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.

Goyer, who has credits in Man Of Steel, Constantine and the up coming Man of Steel sequel, Dawn Of Justice will be writing the series alongside Ian.B.Goldberg who has written for Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Criminal Minds and Once Upon A Time

Given the success of Batman prequel, Gotham, it was only a matter of time until something like this happened for Superman

The Krypton sequence of Man of Steel was one of my favorite parts of the entire film, the mashup of sci-fi technology, dragon-riding fantasy and political is enough of a foundation to make a pretty awesome show right there, I don’t know about you guys but I am really excited to see how this show does in comparison to the other amazing DC shows out at the moment.

What do you think? Good idea? bad idea?
