#5 Nintendo, Philips End Motion-Sensing Patent Dispute

An ongoing patent litigation was resolved earlier this week with Philips resolving it’s dispute against Nintendo. The Dutch technology company was proceeding with patent infringement cases against the Japanese gaming company in Germany, Great Britain, France and the United States over Ninetendo console’s gesture-tracking and motion systems
Both Philips and Nintendo decided to cross-license portions of their respective patent portfolios. Both companies decided to cross-license portions of their respective patent portfolios. Philips has already won an infringement case against Nintendo in Great Britain but the company did not reveal any financial details regarding the settlement with Nintendo.
Nintendo  also won a patent lawsuit filed by IA Labs and later obtained the company’s patent portfolio as well as it won an appeal in the lawsuit filed by Ohio-based company Motiva over patent infringment claims. However Nintendo lost a separate patent lawsuit in March 2013, where U.S. Federal Court found in favor of former Sony Corporation employee and inventor Seijiro Tomita on his patent for 3D technology.

YouTube certainly had their hands full with Psy’s Gangnam Style. The site had to upgrade its counter with Psy’s hit heving been hit more than 2,147,483,647 times.
The counter limit has now changed to 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 or more than nine quintillion (to be very precise Nine quintillion, two hundred and twenty-three quadrillion, three hundred and seventy-two trillion, thirty-six billion, eight hundred and fifty-four million, seven hundred and seventy-five thousand, eight hundred and eight.)

#3 New Trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Home

Yahoo! has debuted a new trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s extraterrestrial comedy Home, coming to 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on March 27, 2015.
Based on the novel “The True Meaning of Smekday” by Adam Rex.
When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna, who also contributes a song) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the roadtrip of a lifetime. The voice cast also includes Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez.

wicked#1 Wicked movie lining up for 2016 release

This news has me very excited! It finally looks like progress has been made for the musical Wicked coming to the big screen!
The untold story of the Witches of Oz, could in fact be ready to go by 2016 and although production hasn’t started yet, Wicked was set to be one of the highlights of 2016’s release calendar – as revealed by the Screen Film Summit earlier this week.
