We were pretty confident to this point, but now it looks like its finally happening. Courtesy of Deadline, the news is spreading that Ryan Reynolds and Fox are closing a deal for the Merc with the Mouth to hit the big screen. The film will be a collaborative effort between Fox and Marvel Studios, and Tim Miller has signed on to direct. Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already drafted a script as the project has been on the drawing board for years at this stage.
Reynolds originally brought the much-loved character to life in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. A film so bad, it was recently ret-conned out of existence thanks to X-Men Days of Future Past. However, the potential for Deadpool and the perfect match that is Ryan to be cast as the character has endured, with him set to do it the right way, finally.
Production is shceduled to being in March 2015.
