In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director James Gunn has opened up more about his plans and wishes for the 2017 scheduled sequel for the highest grossing movie of 2014 (to date), Guardians of the Galaxy.
Aside from wanting to stay true to the comics while retaining the character and humour of the fan favourite super hero movie, Gunn spoke about his intentions to explore some minor characters we got to see in the first movie:
“Yondu and Kraglin, the Ravagers. And I love Nebula. I think that she is underutilized in the film. I want to see more of her. The Collector.”
Gunn also said he’d be careful to avoid repeating the same movie, aware that he can’t just recreate the same movie, “I think Guardians, at the end, is not the structure of a comic book movie, it’s not the structure of an action-adventure, it’s not the structure of a comedy. It’s the structure of a family drama. So how does that play itself out?”
Could someone hurry up and make it 2017 already! What would you like to see in GotG 2? Let us know in the comments below and win prizes just for sharing your opinion!
