We may not be getting a Dredd 2 anytime soon, but for the time being we now have something a little differently to look forward to. Dredd producer Adi Shankar has created a mini-series of the four Dark Judges, Judge Dredd’s sworn enemies from an alternate dimension in the 2000 AD comic books.
Adi, who videoed a message thanking fans for their support in the recent Day of Dredd, has told The Wrap the series was produced secretly and will be released for free later this year. Originally starting as a short film, the project evolved into a seven episode mini-series, in-keeping with his bootleg universe that has included The Punisher and Venom. It may not be a direct sequel, but the Dark Judges in an adaptation is a dream come true in itself.
