How have I not heard of Taylor Davis before now?! The violinist found on YouTube, iTunes, Patreon, Facebook and Instagram and I sill don’t hear about her until now?! If you’re thinking, ‘Geez Declan, it’s just another violinist on YouTube covering geeky music calm down‘ then you are way off the mark – my YouTube history is the proof. Davis has covered everything from the music of Zelda to Final Fantasay X, Game of Thrones to Gladiator and every piece is as beautiful as the next and then there is superior quality of her videos.
“You’ll notice that I play a lot of video game music, and the reason for that is that I’m actually a very big gamer and have grown up with a deep appreciation and respect for these games and their stunning music. I hope to bring that appreciation to a larger audience and prove to people that gaming music is a legitimate and beautiful genre.”
Having started her YouTube channel as ViolinTay, she has over 500,000 subscribers, her videos have amassed nearly 67 million views and she’s released six albums with her latest one ‘The Anime and Game Collection’ released just this year and featuring music from The Last of Us, Halo and Attack on Titan. Davis has also begun touring and performing live off the back of her success as YouTuber but there is no sign yet she’ll be making a European date/tour.
