Suicide Squad Movie Is Coming!
We’ve got Batman fighting Superman, we’ve got a Justice League movie on the way and now it seems that Warner Bros. don’t have any plans to stop with their eyes firmly fixed on the DC Universe and the super villain team, the Suicide Squad is up next!
THR are reporting that filmmaker David Ayer (End of Watch, Fury) is linked to the project, perhaps not on paper just yet but their is interest on both sides it seems. This isn’t the first time the squad movie has been brought up, it has had a writer, Justin Marks attached since early 2011 but it’s only now that it seems to be taking off with WB looking beyond the Justice League.
The Suicide Squad aka Task Force X is a team of super villains dragged together by Agent Amanda Waller, the members are offered a chance to knock time off their jail sentences by taking part in highly dangerous Black Ops missions – failure to comply with Wallers orders or attempting to escape has deadly consequences. The team has had many members since it was first created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru in 1959, it’s current ‘modern’ squad led by Waller was created by John Ostrander in 1987 – Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Oracle, Vixen, Doctor Light and Count Vertigo have all worked for Amanda Waller’s Suicide Squad.
Right now, we don’t know who will make up the team nor do we have a release date/start date for production but as more becomes available you can bet we’ll update you!
