Sanrio Announce Anime Adaptation of “Show by Rock!!”
First released in July 2013 as a game app for smartphones “Show by Rock!!” included parts of music games with the player tapping the touch screen in rhythm with the music. As of September 8th Sanrio along with Furyu announced that the production committee had been formed and the music themed project would broadcast in 2015 in what is to be the late-night timeslots. The Show by Rock!! Anime will be the first Sanrio anime to air in there late-night timeslots – giving the impression there will be a more adult theme to the content. The announcement came to us in a promo video:
The anime itself will follow main protagonist and kitty girl Cyan as she is scouted by a music executive where she meets other young animal orientated characters who form the band “Plasmagica”. It will follow the band as they follow the life and time of a musical career through all the difficult times and high times. The anime will keep true to the music elements involved that made it popular to begin with giving it a new image the way only adaptation to anime can.
