Event: K-Pop Contest Ireland

kpopThe Korean Embassy in Ireland in association with Dublin Council are hosting the first K-Pop talent contest in Ireland as part of the K-Pop World Festival. Already popular in 40 other countries, this contest is aimed at die hard K-Pop fans as well as those just wishing to do something a little different.
The K-Pop World Festival is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea in association with  the Dublin Council and with the generous sponsorship of Lotte DFS promoting K-Pop culture. The regional preliminary rounds are coming for the first time ever in Ireland this year.
K-Pop has taken the world by storm, with many new fans being acquainted with the music, particularly since the success of Psy’s Gangnam Style. But rest assured… there is no need to feel compelled to do that famous horse dance. This is an event for both die hard K-pop fans and music/dance lovers who want to discover a new genre.
As long as your performance is in someway linked to Korean music and you have great craic while doing it The Korean Embassy would be happy to accept your application.
The competition is looking for all singers, dancers and musicians to apply and can be in a group or go solo. For a team composed of more than one person there is a limit of eight, given the space of the venue and the stage and health and safety issues. If there is more than one person in the team then also need to make sure that they each fill out the application forms.
Teams of judges will make their decision based on creativity, musicality and passion.
The rules are simple:
1. The performance entered must have a good connection to K-Pop. Whether it is a song, a dance, a sketch, or an instrumental piece.
2. You must be a Non-Korean national.
3. Your performance must be no longer than 5 minutes.
