A sitcom based on a book about an astronaut readjusting to life on Earth.. Sounds like something from the 80’s, but nope, its happening today. Well, soon. Space.com have confirmed that ABC have bought the rights to produce a pilot based on Col. Chris Hadfield’s book about enjoying life on the regular side of the ozone layer post his landing from the International Space Station last year.
Hadfield had spent five months in the International Space Station after a career as an engineer and astronaut, and it was his third journey into space. Chris garnered a wide audience with his regular facebook posts of pictures and insights into astronaut life, as well as youtube videos that went viral, including his now very famous cover of David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ and his Life in Space video series. There is as yet no planned release date for the pilot.
